North Shore Bank employees came out for the annual Swing with Shorewood fundraiser gala last Saturday, May 7, at Milwaukee’s Discovery World science and technology museum.
“Because last year’s event was virtual, I appreciated this opportunity to connect with others from the community even more,” Shorewood area branch manager Shannon Weber said. “The gala was held on the same day as the Kentucky Derby, so that was the theme of the night.”
The event includes an online auction and raises money for the Shorewood SEED Foundation, which helps fund Shorewood’s public schools. The day after the gala, the foundation posted on Facebook that Swing with Shorewood had raised over $33,000, beating its $30,000 goal.
“We all loved the music, food, and atmosphere,” Shannon said. “But the biggest impact was seeing how this event helps the school district provide programs and equipment for their students. I am so glad North Shore Bank can be a part of this.”
Besides being a sponsor for Swing with Shorewood, North Shore Bank also contributed a basket of goodies as a raffle prize. The prize included an insulated cooler, four tickets to the Milwaukee County Zoo (as well as four passes to ride the Safari Train and a parking pass), two water bottles, four stuffed animals, and blowing bubbles — as well as some sweet treats.
