Friendly, funny Anne Kagerah hits 25 years at bank
How is working at a delicatessen like working at a bank? “You can ‘meat’ lots of people there,” Anne Kagerah says. “Just kidding — that was a ‘cheesy’ joke.” More seriously, she notes, both types of business also depend on understanding customers’ expectations and offering good service and quality products.

Another similarity is that the Pewaukee branch manager and AVP has worked at both. She managed a staff of 13 at a deli before being hired by North Shore Bank 25 years ago this month.

“My mom told me North Shore was looking for employees at the Pewaukee office, and I’d just purchased a home a block away from there. So I decided to apply,” Anne says. Read on to find out how it went from there!

Santa’s buddy Jimmy helps put up lights at Corporate

Corporate receptionist Nancy Hanson got to work last Thursday and discovered a pint-size helper starting to put lights on the office’s Christmas tree: Jimmy the elf. “He only did the top portion, though,” she said. “I was hoping he would finish the rest, but I had to do it myself!”

When Nancy got back from lunch later, he was on top of the tree. “And I left my desk once and came back to find him answering my phones,” she said. “He played a few other tricks too!”

Corporate is having a door-decorating contest this week, and Jimmy is part of the fun. (A little reindeer told us that SVP retail banking Sue Doyle might have helped him up the ladder.)

“The theme for our door is the North Pole, so he’s sitting on top of Santa’s sack to greet our visitors,” Nancy said. “For now, he’s behaving. Who knows if that will change!” •••

Corporate donates cash, supplies to Kathy’s House

The Corporate Community Outreach Committee’s Warmth for the Holidays event raised $1,150 and collected five large, overflowing boxes of items for Kathy’s House. As part of the effort, the Commercial Banking team donated $400 of food along with cleaning supplies and other items for the Milwaukee nonprofit, which provides a place to stay for families and caregivers of people of all ages receiving treatment at area hospitals. The donations will help Kathy’s House keep these guests comfortable. We’ll share the photos we receive from other teams next week! •••

It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.

Pulaski assistant branch manager Caitlin Maloney is from Green Bay — “Go, Pack, go!” she says — and previously worked as a relationship manager at BMO Harris Bank. Her life has been busy lately. “In the last year, I got engaged, had a baby, bought a house, and now have a new job. I am ready to settle down and enjoy all the new blessings and beginnings!” she says. She has two daughters — 5-year-old Emmy and 8-month-old Eva, and loves going to concerts with her fiancé, Russell. “We saw Lee Brice in August. It was an outdoor concert right next to Lambeau Field at Resch Plaza. It was a great way to wrap up the summer!” •••

Book reminds Isenhower of son’s childhood

“My all-time favorite book is Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman,” writes Menasha teller Jennifer Isenhower. If you’re not familiar with it, this children’s book tells the sweet, funny story of a baby bird who hatches while his mother is out finding food for him. He falls out of his nest and sets off on a quest to find her. “I read it over and over to my son — at bedtime, he would always grab it and ask me to read it to him. Now he is all grown up, but the book still has a special place in my heart!”

Video teller Maria De La O Sanchez will be selling prints from her booth at Saint Kate’s Holiday Marketplace this Saturday and Sunday, December 10 and 11. Held both days from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee’s East Town neighborhood, the marketplace features two floors of unique art, crafts, and gifts from 125 of the area’s finest makers.
