Ribbon of Hope celebrates 10 years of fighting breast cancer

VP Steve Arps, Menasha Branch Manager Deb Cumming, Gail Matzke, VP Tricia Cravillion and VP Darrel Eisenhardt in 2003, at the first annual Ribbon of Hope golf challenge.

Ashwaubenon Branch Manager Gail Matzke remembers a milestone:

In 2003, North Shore Bank was the first major sponsor of a grassroots breast cancer foundation. This year the Ribbon of Hope Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary. Ribbon of Hope has given more than $1 million to women battling breast cancer. Thanks to the group’s many volunteers, Ribbon of Hope is proud to report that 97 cents of every dollar raised goes to the fight.

Thank you, North Shore Bank, for supporting this great grassroots effort 10 years ago!

Ribbon of Hope’s annual golf challenge has taken place every summer since 2003. North Shore Bank continues to support the event, which we were instrumental in getting started.

Gail adds:

(Oh, yeah — something else to celebrate on this 10-year milestone: Matzke hits a HOLE IN ONE! She hit a 9-iron to the front of the green; the ball rolled … and rolled … and dropped!)

I remember when Ribbon of Hope started and it’s great to see North Shore Bank’s continued support for a great organization doing good work for women fighting breast cancer. Congrats on 10 years!
