Crime Busters improve on 2020; new program honors Theisen

By Nikki Shelton-Moss, Loss Prevention Manager

2021 was a great year for our Crime Busters. Bankwide, we beat last year by $525,000! Thank you for being alert and helping keep our customers from becoming victims. Keep up the good work in 2022 — you are all doing a great job!

Helpful Hints
• Knowing your customers and their normal transaction activities will help you notice unusual activity that might be related to a scam.
• Take that extra minute to review transaction and account history.
• Ask the customer questions to better understand the situation.
• Educate yourself on current scams so you can teach customers how to avoid being a victim. Visit consumer.ftc.gov.
• Let Security know when you have a Crime Buster moment — we want to recognize and reward you!

Introducing the Peggy Theisen Crime Buster Award
We are proud to present the newly named Peggy Theisen Crime Buster Award in honor of our beloved security team member, who died in April. Peggy’s dedication to her customers and fellow Crime Busters touched us all.

The Peggy Theisen Crime Buster Award recognizes the North Shore Bank employee who exemplifies her spirit by protecting our customers and their financial wellness. Peggy started the Crime Buster Award program in 2013 to recognize branch employees who identified security risks and took action to protect our customers and the bank.

Please look forward to being part of the Peggy Theisen Crime Buster Award program over the next year by taking the necessary steps to protect our customers, the bank, and ultimately the communities we work and live in.
