North Shore Bank sponsors the third year of ART 64 – a live painting competition

North Shore Bank is thrilled to announce our partnership with Discover Wauwatosa as the presenting sponsor of ART 64, a bracket-style live painting tournament for $20,000 that will take place on June 7-8, 2024 in the Village of Wauwatosa. This is the third year that 64 artists from across the country will come together to compete for the grand prize!

“We’re thrilled to sponsor and lend our support for ART 64 in Wauwatosa. This incredible event which draws people from all over is fast becoming one of Wauwatosa’s treasured annual outings,” says Mike Williams, Community Engagement Manager for North Shore Bank. “Having just celebrated our 100th anniversary year, we are proud to continue supporting the wonderful things taking place in our communities, and we encourage everyone to come out and experience live art and the many fun activities available for attendees of all ages during ART 64.”

During the competition, people are invited to watch the paintings come to life and vote for their favorite ones online. The artist in each pairing with the most votes advances to the next round. There will be three rounds total, with the final sixteen artists competing for a $20,000 grand prize.

The 2023 ART 64 event saw over 8,000 visitors in The Village of Wauwatosa, thousands of votes cast for artists, and over 100 tournament paintings sold. The event also includes family-friendly activities, live music, food and drinks, and shopping from local small businesses.

Mark your calendars for June 7-8th; we can’t wait to see you there!

Spirit Day at North Shore Bank

It was Spirit Day at the bank this week, just in time to celebrate all the love in our hearts! Not only was February 14th Valentine’s Day, but it happened to fall during Random Acts of Kindness week and February is American Heart month!

Employees were encouraged to:

  • Show their “Lovin’ Spirit” by wearing red or pink
  • Decorate their space with a heartfelt theme
  • Decorate their branch’s breakroom
  • Spread the love however they saw fit, whether that was a kindness note to a coworker, a random act of kindness, or whatever else their heart desires.

Check out what everyone came up with below:

Employees decorated their offices and cubicles, getting into the spirit! Others brought in sweet treats to snack on throughout the day. Shannan Mahloch brought in Valentines fun dips, Anna Morrison brought in frosted cookies, and Gale Smith brought in Valentine’s chocolates.

The Human Resources department decorated the outside of their office wall facing the Lobby and added a fun game, “Show Your Lovin’ Spirit,” that employees and customers enjoyed. Jim McKenna (Executive Chairman ) was the first to join in on the fun, and future participants were dared to challenge his score. Steve Luebke (Senior Mortgage Lender) was the winner with 190 points!
