MAKING THE NEWS

North Shore Bank named Top Workplace for the 12th time!

We are pleased to announce that we have been named a Top Workplace by the Journal Sentinel for the 12th time! This year’s awards also recognized us in two workplace culture categories: Leadership and Purpose & Values. We are honored to receive this recognition, which will be announced in this weekend’s Journal Sentinel.

Top Workplaces are selected for the honor through employee surveys. Molly Schissler, Chief Human Resources Officer, is pleased North Shore Bank again made the list and thanks our dedicated employees for their positive responses.

To celebrate the win, we’re having a jeans “dress down” day on Friday. Please pair them with any North Shore Bank apparel you may have. We’ll also be sending a sweet treat to all branches and departments!

COMMUNITY-MINDED

Fox Cities Kidz Expo draws largest crowd ever

The North Shore Bank team at the booth.

North Shore Bank was once again presenting sponsor at the Fox Cities Kidz Expo over the weekend. The event had the largest turnout yet, with families able to take pictures “around the world” and color kindness postcards at the North Shore Bank booth, as well as participate in educational and fun crafts and exhibits at other booths.

Lacee Kalepp, Community Engagement Manager, was instrumental in planning and preparing for the event. Aubrey Abrahamson, Assistant Branch Manager-Allouez, was the emcee.

Dan Timko, Associate Banker-Northland, interacted with attendees as Seymour Savings, while Jenny Isenhower, Teller-Menasha, Julie Schwalbach, Video Teller, Noah Isenhower, BSA/AML Specialist, Patt Kox, Lead Teller-Northland, and Tisha Kenfield, Assistant Branch Manager- Northland, ran the North Shore Bank booth.

“The 6th annual Kidz Expo was a huge success,” Lacee said. “This event is a huge draw for the  Appleton area. By having North Shore Bank as the presenting sponsor, they are able to keep the event free for all. Everyone did an amazing job representing the bank while interacting with the kids and their parents. It was a sea of green North Shore Bank bags!  It is a nice opportunity to reach out to vendors to expand our financial literacy program in the area as well. An absolute success!”

Thanks to all for another great event!

AROUND THE BANK

Listening skills huddle inspires employees’ LEGO creativity

Teller Karen Pofahl shares the LEGO creation from the Brookfield Square branch.

In early March, we began the DOs and DON’Ts of Customer Communication series across the bank. This training module focuses on building positive customer relationships, one customer and co-worker at a time, using our SOAR principles and possibility thinking.  Monthly team huddles are being held to debrief what is learned.

This month, Huddle 2, focused on listening skills. We also learned about a LEGO customer experience story. At the end, teams are encouraged to build their own LEGO figures for fun. 03313 Thank you to Stephanie Ruiz and the Muskego branch for being the first to share your creations!

At the Germantown branch, Area Manager Erica Hughes and Lead Teller Nic Rodiez enjoyed making their creations. “Creating figures with LEGOs is a wonderful way to unleash your creativity,” Erica said.

The Germantown branch made a man in a hat and a creative animal figure.

The Muskego branch made a penguin sitting on a chair and a duck.

The Westgate branch in Racine was inspired by Seymour.

The Consumer and Commercial Loan Administration teams at the corporate office took advantage of some additional LEGO bricks supplied by Nicole Daniels to make a pair of robots.

The Cudahy branch made a LEGO man.

Does your team have pictures to share of your LEGO creations? If so, please email them to shorelines@northshorebank.com to be included in a future issue!

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK

Longtime customer raves about impressive service

Cristen Baumann, District Manager, shared that a customer of 20 years moved to North Carolina a few years ago and continued her banking with North Shore Bank, but she knew she needed a bank in North Carolina, too. The customer shared that North Shore Bank set the bar too high, as other banks “did not feel like home.”

Cristen said she recently received an email from the customer. She wanted Cristen to know how impressed she was with the Pewaukee branch years ago and could count on each person who cared for her and her money.

The customer recalled a recent interaction with North Shore Bank that again called out the excellent service she receives from us.

“I needed to deposit a sizable check at North Shore Bank while living in North Carolina. Alex Ackeret (Personal Banker at Sussex, who was helping out at Pewaukee) took the call and was totally awesome! Alex listened to my need and did some problem solving to make it happen. He stayed in touch, always had the best attitude, solved problems, and never made me feel like a problem!”

Now that’s a happy customer! Great job, Alex!
